I/ Feartures:
- Strong plant, good tolerance to virus.
- Harvesting: 90-95 days after sowing.
- Fruit size: 12 - 13 cm height, 27 - 28 cm diameter.
- Fruit characteristics: dark green and glossy skin.
- Yield: 3.8 - 4.2 kg/fruit, 8 - 9 kg/plant.

III/ Soak, incubation and sowing:
* Prepare warm water 50 – 52oC:
- Mixing 40% boiling water (95 – 100oC) with 60% fresh water (25 – 30oC) got from drilled well or water faucet, stir well in 30 sec
- Soak the seeds in warm water as prepared in step 1 in 3 hours
* Incubation:
- Clean the towels (or damp tissues), squeeze water out of them to maintain adequate moisture (about 80 – 85%)
- Spread the seeds as soaked in step 2 on the towels, then put these towels in dark, warm place (around 28 – 30oC)
- After 20 hours, rinse viscous on the seeds coat with tap water or well water and washing towels with hot water (100°C), squeezed and then incubating again
* Sowing:
- After 30-35 hours, the seeds will germinate, please sow these seeds in the nursery or direct seeding on field.
- Rinse seeds not germinated, washed and squeezed towels then incubated again, when all seeds germinate, continue to sow.
IV/ Planting and maintenace:
1. Fertilizers (for 1.000m2):
Fertilizer application for pumkin cultivation depends on geographic conditions. However, we recommend applying the following guides:

2. Cuting the tops:
When plants have 5-6 real leaves cuting tops in the morning, after choose 3 same strong branches, training tops spread equalize on ground
3. Drainage:
If planting on lowfield in the rainy season, fuits can be rot. Famer must have to good drainage, remove all grass on pumkin field to prevented.
V/ Plant protection:
* Powdery mildew disease:
- It’s usually occurs when high humidity and a temperature of about 22 – 27°C, disease strong harmful in the highlands, where have more fog.
- Spray 2 the sides of the leaves in late afternoon with the following chemicals: Imipemconazole (min 98,3%), Chlorothelonil (min 98%), Mancozeb (min 98%), Ethabosan (min 99,6%), Copper Oxychloride 50% + Metalaxyl 8%,…
* Viral disease:
- Is harmful severe in the dry season, should be visit field usually and remove all infected plants (plant are yellow and twisted leaves on tops) to avoid spread other plants.
- Spray the lower side of the leaves to prevent the insects (suck group) with the following chemicals: Dinotefuran (min 89%), Clorfenapyr (min 94%), Diafenthiuron,…
* Borer group worm:
- Harmful through all vegetable period.
