Single row per bed

0.3 – 0.4 m

Density

3100 – 4100 plants/1000 m2

III/ Sowing:

- Prepare trays or pots to sowing seeds.

- Hot pepper seed no need to soaking and incubating, after open seed pouches, you can be sowing seeds directly in trays or pots then covering seeds by a layer soil about 0.5cm and then take it in the nursery.

IV/ Planting and maintenance:

1. Nursery:

  • Sow the seeds to trays or pots, which make by: 40% free soil + 20% ash + 20% coir + 20% manure + 200 gr DAP + chemicals to control soil insects.
  • If there is no DAP in the media, please solute 20 grams DAP in 10 liters of water, and spray 3 times a day to stimulate root development.
  • Prevent damping-off in nursery by spraying the following chemicals before transplanting: Mancozeb 64% + Metalaxyl-M 4%, Iprodione (min 96%), Validamycin A,…
  • When there are 4 – 5 leaves on the seedling, please transplant them to the field..

2/ Fertilizers (for 1.000 m2):

Fertilizer application for hot pepper cultivation depends on geographic conditions. However, we recommend applying the following guides for “Golden Coin” hot pepper:

* Quantity:

Manure:   2 - 3 m3

  Super phosphates: 40 kg

  Urea:    26,5 kg

Lime: 100 – 120 kg

  NPK 16-16-8:       60 kg

  DAP:     10 kg

KCl:         40 kg

* Application:

Before  7 – 10 planting day

100 – 120 kg

Basal

At tillage

2 – 3 m3 Manure + 40 kg Super phosphates + 14 kg NPK + 12 kg KCl

Side

dressing at

7 days after planting

1kg DAP with 500 liters of water

10, 20, 30 days after planting

1,5 kg Urea + 4 kg NPK + 3 kg DAP

40, 50, 60, 70 days after planting

4 kg Urea + 6 kg NPK + 5 kg KCl

80, 90 days after planting

3 kg Urea + 5 kg NPK + 4 kg KCl

* Notes:

  • Lime should be applied at soil preparation to increase fertilizer effect
  • Fertilizer should be applied far enough from the plant foot, deep enough (6 – 7 cm) to increase fertilizer effect.
  • Fertilizing should be together with weeding increase fertilizer effect.
  • At fruiting stage (75 – 80 days after planting), there is often fruit tip rot due to calcium deficiency. Calcium can be added by periodically spraying calcium nitrate (Ca(NO3)2) every 5 days. Also spray foliar fertilizer for better fruiting and prevent node fruit.

V. Plant protection:

* Seedling wilt:

- Is harmful to seeding in nursery or newly-transplanted seedling. Spray the following chemicals to the plant foot: Validamycin (Validamycin A), Azoxystrobin, Chlorothalonil,…

* Bacterial wilt:

- Pepper should not planted on the field where the previous crop is of solanaceae (tomato, tobacco, potato, eggplant ..).

- Field should be airy, well drained. Remove the infected plants, scatter lime to the infected place

- Spray to the plant foot with the following chemicals: Kasugamycin 2%, Coperoxycloride 45%, Trichoderma spp,

* Anthracnose:

- Causing fruit rot.

- Spray to the leaves and fruits with the following chemicals: Propinep (min 80%),Chlorothalonil (min 98%), Mancozeb 64%,…

* Branch wilt:

- Is harmful at fruiting and harvest period. Spray to the leaves and fruits with the following chemicals: Mancozeb (min 85%), Fosety-aluminium (min 95%),  Difenoconazole (min 96%),...

* Viral disease:

- Regularly visit the field 15 – 30 days after planting to remove and bury the infected plants.

- Spray the lower side of the leaves to prevent the insects with the following chemicals: Dinotefuran (min 89%), Clorfenapyr (min 94%), Diafenthiuron,…

* Borer group:

- Harmful through all vegetable period.

- Spray the lower side of the leaves in late afternoon with the following chemicals: Emamectin Benzoate (Avermectin B1a 90% + Avermectin B1b 10%), Lufenuron (min 96%), Flubendiamize (min 95%), Chlorantraniliprol,…

* Suck group:

- Spray the lower side of the leaves and on top of the plant with the following chemicals: Chlorpyrifos Methyl (min 96%), Dinotefuran (min 89%), Clothianidin,

* Notes:

  • To preventbacteria, not planting on the fields planted solanaceous plants (tomato, tobacco, peppers, potatoes ...). fields must well drained and airy.
  • Fungicide should be sprayed at old leaves, pesticide should be sprayed at young leaves.
