PLANTING GUIDE OF F1 RIDGE LUFFA SEEDS – UY LONG

                                 (GOLDEN COIN SEEDS)

I/ Features:

- Strong plant, very branchy.

 - Harvesting: 41 - 42 days after sowing.

 - Fruit size: 25 - 30 cm length, 3.5 - 4 cm diameter.

 - Fruit characteristics: light green skin, very firm fruit.

 - Yield: 4.5 - 5 kg/plant.

II/ Sowing density:

 III/ Soaking and incubation seeds:

1. Scrape a angle of seed coat with a scissors or knife.

2. Prepare warm water 50 – 52^oC:

- Mixing 40% boiling water (95 – 100^oC) with 60% fresh water (25 – 30^oC) got from drilled well or water faucet.

3. Soaking seeds:

- Soak the seeds in warm water as prepared in 4 – 5 hours.

4. Incubation seeds:

- Get the towel or T - shirt (or fabrics can be moisturizing), washed, squeezed just enough moisture (about 80 – 85%).

- Get the seeds as soaked spread thin on the towels, then put these towels in dark, warm place (around  28 – 30^oC).

5. Sowing seeds:

- After 20 – 24 hours, the seeds will germinate, please sow these seeds in the nursery. Sow the germinated seeds to pots have enviroment including: 2 parts of muck + 1 part of soil. After sowing seeds get filled environment and sufficient moisture for irrigation.

- Wash the seeds have not germinated and towels then incubated again, about 12 hours later, the seeds will germinate, continue sowing.

IV/ Planting and maintenance:

* Powdery mildew:

- It usually occurs when there is high moisture and a temperature of about 22 – 27°C, is harmful in the highlands, the weather is more fog, special in winter-spring crop.
