PLANTING GUIDE SUNFLOWER F1 – GOLDSHINE 212

                                 (GOLDEN COIN SEEDS)

I/ Features:

 - Strong plant

 - Harvesting: 48 - 55 day after sowing

 - Light yellow petal, yellow disk flower, long and large petals, margin don't coil, long shelf life.

 - Yield: 330.000 flowers/ha.

III. Sowing: Sowing dry seeds in the field, depth 2 – 3 cm, cover seeds by a thin soil and irrigating immediately after sowing, should remain constantly moist until germination finished.

IV. Planting and maintenance:

Fertilizer depends on geographic conditions. However, we recommend applying the following guides:

• Lime should be applied at soil preparation to increase fertilizer effect
• Irrigation should be applied immediately after fertilizing to plant easy uptake fertilizer.
• Fertilizing should be together with weeding increase fertilizer effect
• Should add some micronutrients fertilizer: MgSO₄: 10 kg; FeSO₄, ZnSO₄, MnSO₄ (1 – 2 kg); CuSO₄: 0,5 – 1 kg; Na₂MoO₄: 0,5 – 1 gr/1.000m².

* Pests: sucking group: thrips, bugs, white flies

Rummaging inside inflorescences and scratch the petal before picking stage.

Should rotating spray chemicals: Priponil, Carbosulfan, Malathion, Petolium oil.

* Diseases:

• Brown eyes spots: caused by Cercospora

The disease occurs and develops at young plant stage but very harmful at flowering stage.

• Wilt and root rot: caused by Fusarium oxysporum, lycopersici, Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc, Ralstonia solanacearum…

The disease cause plant root rot, then the plant wilts and dies.

• Disease control:

After harvest, the remnants of plant (especially the root) are removed from the field and burn or bury to decrease disease source for the next crop.

Plow and dig up the soil to buried the source of disease in the field.

Raise high beds to good drainage when rain or watering much.

Increase compost fertilizer application, balance between nitrogen, phosphor and potassium, adding lime more. Regular watering to ensure moisture for the plant always grows and develops well.

Do not transplant high density, should prune old leaves under to keep the field always airy, the surface is always dry, not wet.

Regularly visit the field to detect and have prevention methods on time. If the disease occurs, should rotating spray chemicals: Mancozeb (min 85%), Coper Oxychloride 50% + Metalaxyl 8%, Fosetyl-aluminium (min 95%), Validamycin (Validamycin A), Azoxystrobin, Chlorothalonil,…

* Notes:

• Should carefully sprayed at the lower side of the leaves.
• Fungicide should be sprayed at old leaves.
• Pesticide should be sprayed at young leaves.
